Reason #1: Expressing Gratitude Helps You “Zoom Out”
Most of us live our lives hyper-focused on what is not going the way we want. Expressing gratitude on a daily basis allows you to avoid getting stuck in tunnel vision.
Or, as I like to say, “It will help you zoom out.”
When you are frustrated, feeling unfulfilled, or stagnant, you may be too focused on something that’s not going as expected.
It’s a crazy feeling because you can be totally content in other areas of life. And at the same time, if one thing is not going to plan and can completely trash how you feel.
The act of expressing gratitude forces you to zoom out and look around. You have to take stock of your life and tilt your perspective to what is going right!
It can be the hardest thing to do when you feel down in the dumps!
You may want to live there in that misery and self-pity.
But if you’re ready, I’ll let you in on a little secret that will make it worth the effort!
If you can master shifting your perspective, you become a master of your own energy.
Because where attention goes, energy flows.
And the most fulfilled people are the ones that know how to shift, control, and express their energy in ways that are beneficial.
Tilting your perspective may feel like moving a mountain in the beginning. But it’s a skill worth learning! Just think of expressing gratitude as the workout that helps you get your weight up!
I sometimes have a hard time shifting my perspective because I am very goal-oriented. I am also healing my anxiety, so it is helpful for me to focus on changing perspective.
Especially when I find myself in a fear spiral.
I realized that the more I practiced expressing gratitude, the easier it was not to fall into the trap.
Which started helping me keep a positive outlook on the whole picture of my life.
Getting ahead of those feelings by including gratitude into my daily morning routine helped me tremendously!
If you find yourself struggling with tunnel vision, try implementing a daily gratitude practice and see where it leads you.

Reason # 2: Expressing Gratitude is Energy Output.
It is true that you shouldn’t give to receive. But it’s also true that energy always balances itself out.
Keep in mind that you should always do everything with positive intention!
Give because it feels good or because you want to show appreciation.
But know that the energy you put out will always come back to you.
Even if it’s not your intention to receive. It is the Universal Law of Cause and Effect.
This is especially helpful if you are working on being more comfortable in your “receiving mode“.
When manifesting, you have to be open to receiving all that life can give you.
But you may have subconscious blocks around receiving things. Your subconscious tells you you don’t deserve it unless you work hard.
And sometimes not even then.
When you realize that expressing your gratitude is a valuable form of giving, your subconscious can start to work around the blocks.
Whether you express it openly to other people or privately acknowledge it, the output is still the same. And the more energy you give out, the more you are destined to receive.
You can receive this energy back in many different ways.
You might experience it in your relationships, through gratitude, compassion, love, and support.
In spiritual guidance, through healing, discernment, enlightenment, and blessings.
Even in material form with money, physical manifestations, etc.
So now you see how expressing gratitude benefits you externally and also internally.
You can see how there are results from it long-term as well.

Reason #3: Gratitude Is Grounding.
Grounding is the act of getting out of your head and into your body.
It is similar to reason #1, but not the same.
Taking time to “Zoom Out” helps you see all the amazing blessings that have reached you up until now.
While grounding is acknowledging the present.
You don’t think of the past or the future. It’s an essential practice when life becomes overwhelming.
If you are feeling stressed or worried about what will happen.
Or you are over-analyzing scenarios and situations that have passed.
Expressing gratitude will help you recognize when you are trapped inside your head and need to come back down to earth.
Gratitude forces you to look around the room and think about the scene right in front of you. And that is what’s most important.
Especially when creating your dream life.
The life you are living right now at some point was your past self’s dream.
Take some time right now and think back to a year ago.
What do you have now that you wanted so badly back then?
Now acknowledge how you feel in this moment.
You feel good right? Maybe even proud?
Do some of your worries melt away?
Good! That’s the key!
That’s the feeling we’re trying to create and recreate when we express gratitude.
That feeling of knowing that everything is okay at this moment.

Reason #4: You “Raise Your Vibration.”
If you have ever looked into the Law of Attraction, you’ve probably heard that you need to “Raise Your Vibration”.
If you haven’t, it basically means that you elevate your mood to match the feeling that your manifestation will give you.
For example, if you want a new car, raising your vibration to attract that into your life would mean you have to match the emotion that a new car would bring you.
Expressing gratitude helps you achieve that emotional experience without physically having to do anything.
You can experience the feeling of being accomplished by acknowledging your current accomplishments. The feeling of peace comes in when you think of anything you consider peaceful.
You can achieve these feelings you’re chasing simply by changing your perspective.
As a human, you won’t chase a feeling you haven’t felt before.
You know a new car will make you feel free because already know what freedom feels like.
Tap into that.
Exercise
- First, Grab a Journal or a Piece of Paper.
- Think about a manifestation you have been wanting for a while. (A new car, a relationship, more money, a peaceful life.)
- Now imagine how you will feel once you reach that goal. Feelings like: Relief, happiness, excitement, lust, acceptance, etc.
- Write down what you think you will feel once you have what you’re asking for. Don’t leave out any details!
- Next, write down what else makes you feel the ways you listed.
- Put a checkmark next to the things that you already have.
- Finally, for the next 7 days, commit to expressing gratitude for each item you checked off. Do this preferably in the morning right when you wake up.

But it actually benefits you in more ways than you would expect.
Expressing that you are grateful for the present moment and for everything up to this point can help you in more ways than one!
It’s important to remember these 4 points.

- You can center and ground yourself in the truth and in the present when you are grateful.
- It helps you to improve your mood quickly. The more you are in a good mood the faster you will attract the things meant for you!
