I felt like I was STUCK.
When I graduated from college, I planned on finding a job in another city so I could start the next chapter of my life!
Little did I know, Columbus and I had some unfinished business!
Before I graduated, the company I interned with told me a full-time offer was in the works. I was excited! New city, new job, new me. About a month went by, and I heard nothing from them.
I called and emailed a few different people, and still nothing!
They ghosted me.
After that, the next and only job offer that came my way was with an engineering company located about 20 minutes away. The pay was good, so I stopped complaining and decided I didn’t mind sticking around a little longer.
I explored the city as a young adult. But a few years in, that adventure lost its luster, and I began to job hunt once again.
No matter how many jobs I applied to, I could not get any interest from companies outside of Ohio.
Then I met my current partner, who knew that I had no interest in living in Ohio long term. Surprisingly he felt the same!
We talked about it often. We discussed what we would do and who we would be once we moved.
And then, the pandemic hit.
It All Started With A Vision Board.
In July of 2020, mid-pandemic panic, something huge shifted in me. You can call it a spiritual awakening, a turning point, a climax.
Whatever you decide to call it, I had an internal shift. I believed that I was meant for much more than the current path that I was on.
My spiritual journey pushed me to quit nicotine, learn how to start a business, and reimagine my life with a giant vision board!
I made a vision board designed meant to encompass 5 years. I added dreams like starting my own brand, eating healthier and healing my gut, moving to a new city, and living in a high-rise apartment.
It was beautiful.
And I really didn’t expect a lot of it to happen for a little while, but I was wrong.
I hung up my poster-sized vision board on the wall and watched as each vision began to materialize into my life.
I made my vision board in December 2020 and manifested moving to Chicago in August 2021.

I Spread Out My Focus
Once the vision board was up, I got to work. I had already started a side-hustle reselling on Amazon and planned on beginning my healthy eating journey in 2021.
So I had a few other goals to focus on. During one of my thrift store trips, I discovered The Plant Paradox Cookbook, which catapulted me into my gut-healing journey!
I have a habit of getting tunnel vision when I want to achieve something. When I have a goal, I hyperfocus on it to the point where I can sometimes stress myself out.
Once I started spreading my energy around, building other dreams, and taking life one day at a time, I saw my manifestations begin to materialize.
I healed my gut, started posting about it on Tiktok and found a community of people interested in the same things as me!
Moving out of Ohio was still on my mind, but it wasn’t front and center.
I didn’t obsess over it as I had with my goals in the past. I was also focused on other things that allowed me to connect with my actual inner desires.

I Immersed Myself In The Energy
When I manifested moving I realized this part was a huge factor!
I’m originally from Chicago, but I moved away at a young age and never got to experience its magic as an adult.
Although I love Chicago and my parents moved back there, I was still open to living anywhere! My partner and I had narrowed it down to 3 cities, Dallas, Charlotte, and Chicago.
It was a tough decision!
We visited Chicago a few times during the pandemic and stayed with my parents for a few days. Once the restrictions lifted, we visited and explored downtown Chicago.
My partner and I also took the time to visit Dallas, where he used to live, and my best friend from college currently lived.
In each city, we did tourist and local activities to feel what each was offering.
I could feel the vibe of each city.
Dallas was warm and inviting, I had friends there already, and it excited me to think of what life would be like living there!
Downtown Chicago was different, it set my soul on fire.
Being in the energy of Chicago inspired me.
I could imagine myself living my day-to-day life here, building an empire, and feeling free. I began to realize moving to Chicago was the feeling I had been searching for.
What Can You Do?
If you are manifesting moving to a new city, spend time there.
Do the tourist activities and local activities. Immerse yourself in the energy of the city, and it will tell you if you’re meant to be there or not.
The more you can feel that feeling the new city brings you, the more energy you put into the manifestation.
I Purged My Negative Emotions Surrounding It
Manifesting change in your life isn’t always the magical experience everyone makes it out to be.
When you call in life changes, there has to be space for them before they can materialize in your life. It doesn’t always mean physical space either!
If you are weighed down emotionally, some manifestations require you to release those emotions to move forward.
I had to purge feelings of fear and insecurity before moving to Chicago.
Looking back on it, it was for the better because it made me very aware of when I was self-sabotaging, so I could make better decisions and stop it.
When I manifested moving to Chicago, there were a few emotions that I didn’t know I had to address.
I was probably going to move in with my boyfriend, and digging into that triggered a lot of unhealed emotions.
This meant I had to purge any anxieties, fears, and insecurities I had buried deep down and give my commitment issues the boot!
What Can You Do?
If you’re wondering where your manifestations are.
Ask yourself where you need to be emotionally in order to handle them.
Then be honest with yourself on whether or not you are doing the work to create the emotional strength you need to have it and maintain it.

I Left It Up To The Universe To Make The Final Decision
Over time the decision to move became more than just my next adventure in a new city.
I began to want to find a place that would allow me to grow into the highest version of myself. A place where I can develop not only career-wise but also mentally and spiritually.
One that would also help me grow the relationships in my life in a healthy way.
I’m a sucker for tarot readings. But only the ones that really resonate with me. I don’t turn down ways God may be trying to contact me. So I sought out guidance asked if I should move to Dallas with my boyfriend. The answer was “Yes, but would it really benefit you though.”
I was shocked and confused. All I wanted was to move away from this city and create some exciting change in my life.
Of course, it would benefit me. I can be the best version of myself no matter where I am, and I had friends there that would welcome me with open arms. What was wrong with Dallas?
So that day I let go.
I was manifesting moving to a new city but it was going to be the city made for my highest good. I made it clear that wherever I was led, I would go.
So I continued my job search, applied to jobs in each city, and waited.
What Can You Do?
If you are open to more than one option, give the universe your options.
Be flexible.
If you are not in alignment with yourself you could be manifesting things you may not enjoy in the long term.
So give the universe room to surprise you.
I Stopped Blocking My Manifestation
I feel most comfortable with a plan. And when things don’t go the way I imagined in my head, I’ll admit, I start to panic.
When I manifested moving to Chicago, I had no control over the how.
Absolutely none!
When I manifested moving, I imagined it like this:
I get a job offer. My partner gets a job offer. We work remotely or at a company in the city.
We both have new jobs and put in our two weeks. Then we leave when our leases are up.
The universe said no. We do this my way on my time, just trust me.
My partner had interviews with a few companies and received the job offer first. He was offered a new job located in Chicago, beginning early September. I, on the other hand, had no job offers and no interviews. He was free to move to Chicago, and I was still chained to Ohio with the only job I’d ever been offered.
At this point, I was emotionally breaking down. Spiraling in feelings of abandonment. First, all of my friends got to leave Ohio, and now this.
I was working remotely, but I had to stay because my job said it wasn’t permanent, no exceptions.
I started considering taking a leap of faith, leaving without permission and no other job lined up.
It wasn’t until I felt I had nothing left to lose that I gained the courage to ask if I could work remotely permanently.
It took them months to get back to me. We found an apartment, and I was calculating how long I could get away with working for them until everyone went back into the office.
Two weeks before my moveout date, my manager approved it.
It felt like the universe was testing how bad I wanted it and what I was willing to give up for it.
How far was I willing to go and how much did I trust my own personal magic?
I was able to move without worry after worrying for months.
And now I live in the city of my dreams, in a beautiful apartment, and I didn’t have to switch jobs to do it.
What Can You Do?
Don’t be the reason your manifestations don’t come in.
Speak Up!
You can block your manifestations by assuming you will be told no.
Ask for what you deserve, and it will come to you. Just not always in the way that you imagine.
And that’s okay.
